Neil Simon once said, “Talent is the gift plus the passion - a desire to succeed so intense that no force on Earth can stop it.” If ever a phrase could be used to describe the heart and soul of one of Hunterdon Hills Playhouse’s most dedicated professionals, it would be that of Ken Schwarz.  Since the young age of twelve, when he first volunteered in community theatre as well as at the Playhouse, Mr. Schwarz has been dedicating his time and talent, in every possible way, to literally ensure that the show goes on. From his first professional job as an actor, to additional credits such as playwright, producer, director, set and lighting designer, stage manager, and any other role that needed to be filled, Mr Schwarz’s contributions at Hunterdon Hills Playhouse have been endless. Currently, he is directing Neil Simon’s hilarious madcap comedy, “Come Blow Your Horn,” which opened September 12th.

“Come Blow Your Horn” is the first play Neil Simon wrote after spending years as a sketch comedy writer for television, most famously for Sid Caesar. According to Mr. Schwarz, the play is not only loaded with huge laughs and very funny characters, but has depth and a lot of heart as well. Set in the 1960’s, “Come Blow Your Horn” revolves around the lives of two brothers living during the “Mad Men” era of the 1960’s. Trouble ensues when the younger brother moves in with his older sibling, much to the exasperation of their parents. The family dynamics portrayed by this stellar cast will keep audiences entertained and laughing along with every scene.

Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, located in scenic Hunterdon County, is custom built to provide the very best in sight and sound. With spectacular shows, delicious table-served entrees, and professional talent, it is New Jersey’s premier dinner theatre.
