Alice Wolfgang will provide us not only with the rich history of PA German pie-making, but also over 25 traditional and contemporary recipes accompanied by mouth watering visuals for both savory and dessert pies. Learn how both the bake oven and the wood cook stove were used. Potato pie, onion pie, green tomato pie, peach custard...there is bound to be one you will want to try when you get home! MAKE & TAKE CRAFTS DAY: PAPER QUILT CRAFTING

Look at both traditional and modern quilts and then create your own out of paper, while letting it tell a piece of your story. These programs are free of charge, and there is no registration needed. Just drop into the Stauffer Education Room. Fun for all ages! Younger children may need a parent or guardian to assist them.

RALPH BERKY: BUTTER VALLEY POET AND NATURALIST

Ralph W. Berky (1890-1977) was known in the Butter Valley area as "The Birdman." He was an eccentric figure walking the Valley in a long overcoat that had pockets filled with birdseed. His love of nature was evident in his hand illustrated postcards inscribed with his poetry. Pastor Bob Gerhart will discuss Ralph's unusual life and contributions to Butter Valley.
